What Is The Table 30A
I get asked this question a lot, and I never quite give the same answer twice. That is partly because The Table 30A is not a restaurant. It is not a catering company. It is not a dinner theater. It is something I built from the ground up that lives at the intersection of all those things without fitting neatly into any one of them.
The simplest way I can describe it is this: The Table 30A is an immersive, multi-course dining experience that brings together fine dining, original storytelling, and interactive digital art. I created it under my creative alias 10PRINT, and every event we produce is a collaboration between a chef and me, where food and projected media tell the same story at the same time.
How the Evening Unfolds
When you arrive at a Table 30A event, you sit down at a communal table with the other guests. The table itself becomes the stage. Over the course of the evening, five curated courses are served, and each course is paired with a chapter of an original story that I have written and designed for that specific event.
The story is told through projected visuals, lighting, and sound that play across the table surface. The projections are not passive. They are interactive. The system tracks the movement of hands, glasses, and plates in real time, so as guests reach for a drink, pass a dish, or gesture during conversation, the abstract and colorful visuals on the table respond. The experience is tactile and playful without requiring anyone to do anything they would not naturally do at dinner.
The food is not background to the show, and the show is not background to the food. They are designed together. The chef and I collaborate from the very beginning of each event to make sure that every course and every visual chapter belong to the same narrative. If you want to understand that relationship in more detail, I wrote about it in How Food And Projection Work Together At The Table 30A.
What Makes It Different
There are private chefs on 30A. There are fine dining restaurants. There are even a few places doing prix fixe multicourse menus. But none of them are doing what The Table 30A does, and I think the distinction matters.
A traditional fine dining experience is about the food. The room, the service, the wine list all support the food. At The Table 30A, the food is one voice in a larger conversation. The projected media, the sound design, the pacing of the story, and the interactive elements on the table are all equal participants. You are not just eating a meal. You are inside a piece of work that I have designed as a complete experience.
The other key difference is the communal table. Every guest sits together. Whether you come as a couple, a group of friends, or a corporate team, you share the table with everyone else at the event. I have found that this creates something unexpected. People talk to each other. They react to the projections together. They pass food and watch the table light up in response. By the end of the night, strangers have become part of the same shared memory. I go deeper into why I made that choice in The Communal Table At The Table 30A.
Who The Table 30A Is For
I designed this experience to be accessible to anyone who is curious. You do not need to know anything about digital art. You do not need to be a foodie. You just need to be willing to sit down, eat well, and let something a little different happen around you.
That said, the people who tend to find us fall into a few categories.
Couples and groups looking for something beyond a typical dinner out. The 30A area has wonderful restaurants, but if you have already been to most of them and want a night that feels genuinely new, this is what I built The Table 30A to be.
Corporate teams looking for a shared experience. Private events accommodate up to twelve guests, which makes them ideal for team entertainment and celebrations. The communal format naturally encourages interaction without forcing it. I have written more about that specifically in Why The Table 30A Works For Corporate Team Events.
People visiting 30A who want to discover the creative side of the area. The Emerald Coast is known for beaches and sunsets. The Table 30A offers a different window into what this community produces.
How Events Work
There are two ways to experience The Table 30A.
Pop-Up Events
I host pop-up events on selected dates throughout the year. These are open to the public and you can purchase individual tickets through the website. Each pop-up has a unique theme, a unique menu, and a unique story. Once a pop-up is over, that particular experience does not repeat.
Private Events
If you have a small group, you can book a private event on an available date. Private events are hosted at outdoor partner spaces along 30A. I work with you to understand the occasion, and then I design the evening around your group. The story, the food, and the projections are all tailored. Private events accommodate up to twelve guests, with a small amount of flexibility if needed.
If you want to know exactly what the booking process looks like, I outlined it step by step in How To Book A Private Event With The Table 30A.
Why I Built This on 30A
I could have launched The Table 30A anywhere, but 30A made sense for reasons that go beyond the scenery. This stretch of the Florida Gulf Coast has a creative energy that people do not always see from the outside. There is a community of artists, chefs, and makers here who care deeply about craft. The outdoor spaces are extraordinary. The weather allows for open-air dining most of the year. And the visitors who come to 30A tend to be the kind of people who are open to new experiences.
The path that brought me here, from an Echo Park music venue intern to touring with bands to Disney spectaculars to this dinner table, is a story I told in From Echo Park Intern To Immersive Dining Creator. The Table 30A is my contribution to that creative ecosystem. It is a place where food, technology, and storytelling come together in a way that I have not seen anywhere else, and I am proud to have built it here.
